this is for the fokes who have / . i need some . i am planning on getting a macbook for a very specific usecase. i am planning on getting a macbook in order to run a provider for my at some point. what macbook model would you recommend i get basically it'd be a deddicated network appliance that runs the provider and nothing else.Okay, ANOTHER question for the Bartenders of the Fediverse:
The thing I admit I worry about most is having to cut off a customer who might've drank too much. There's so much going on behind the bar and I want to do my best not to overserve when the time comes (fingers crossed I get the position).
I know intoxication and how fast it happens is linked to how much alcohol in a certain amount of time, with or without food, and because of the person's body weight. Lots of factors involved.
What I was thinking is when they're wrapping up their 3rd drink, offering an ice water on principle to hopefully slow down consumption and rehydrate them without coming across as "you might be having too much and need to slow down." I've been around functioning drunks my whole life belligerent angry ones are something I'm not used to, and I suck at confrontation. Working on it, though, because it's a fact of life.
QUESTION: I was wondering if you've ever had to cut someone off or try to slow down their consumption of alcohol before they got to a point where they could end up in jail or you in trouble What were some tricks you pulled in order to get them to comply and do so without getting angry
I've seen some articles and vids about this the past few days, but everybody reacts differently and I wonder if you had to get creative to prevent trouble behind the bar.
Any ideas would be great. Just forming my toolbox so I can be effective and not freeze if this (heaven forbid) happens to me. And Dave Allred has some great ones I just want to be prepared as possible. Thanks again:

Quick question to all my Linux heads out there: what's a good distro for a non-techie who really only needs software already available on Linux like Firefox, Keepass, Libre Office etc. for their laptop I can always help with any issues that come up but since I'll be distant it'd be good to have something that's intuitive and doesn't break easily.

The surprisingly undisciplined trick to escaping social media

Looking for a foss app to edit short-video content on Android. I need the basic shorts-like features: trim video, add music, overlay text.
I've tries but can't add audio, and is crashing all the time (and I still couldn't see how to import audio tracks)
Boost is appreciated!
