Given that Microsoft software fills me with existential horror, and after learning about the suicide nets around Apple factories I won't be buying any more of their hardware, I guess the remaining operating system option is... Linux And what are some good options for a laptop brand
I mostly use my computer for browsing the internet (including video streaming platforms like Netflix I don't know if that's an issue on Linux the way it once was), typesetting math in LaTeX, taking notes in Obsidian, and playing some favorite games from my Steam library. I'm looking for something repairable, with no embedded AI nonsense.

I'm thinking about writing a post about a general strike. But I don't really know enough yet. I guess the odds are that nobody here has actually lived through one. I'd really like to find out what it's like in the days leading up to a general strike, as well as the day of.
I'm also thinking about what to recommend. Probably a good idea to have a small first aid kit to bring with you, including bottled water. Eye protection. Some kind of protective clothing, possibly Turning off fingerprint and facial recognition on your phone If you can afford it, maybe a burner phone instead
