I'm thinking about writing a post about a general strike. But I don't really know enough yet. I guess the odds are that nobody here has actually lived through one. I'd really like to find out what it's like in the days leading up to a general strike, as well as the day of.
I'm also thinking about what to recommend. Probably a good idea to have a small first aid kit to bring with you, including bottled water. Eye protection. Some kind of protective clothing, possibly Turning off fingerprint and facial recognition on your phone If you can afford it, maybe a burner phone instead

An incredibly cute and lovely human and fellow student has walked into my life, and I am verry much smitten. We're just getting to know each other and feeling out the vibes. With that being said, if things go the way I'd like them to, I want to ask them out with every fiber of my being. that means they'll have to find out I'm poly at some point, and that scares the hell out of me because what if that blows up my chances or otherwise backfires I know it's stupid and that this is the chance you take, but still... makes my stomach squirm. I'm about to order four 8TB Seagate Barracuda Compute HDDs to make a ZFS RAID-Z1 array in my new server.
Can anyone save me from a terrible error This server boots from a 1TB SSD. The spinny-disk array will be for and CCTV footage.
Four drives seems like a good balance of parity to storage, and 8TB seems small enough to repair a failed drive before another dies. Price is alright too.
