# Open source and "getting in the way of the 'real' work"

hmms, when entering a new open source project or doing something in a group where it's a small, niche or otherwise kinda delegated/separate/extended part of it, it feels wrong to like occupy the 'main' channels where all the serious goings-ons are.

Like they already have their dev community and inner circle, I almost would feel more comfortable ranting about my little side of things in the off-topic channels xD

Unless I'm formally or otherwise part of the dev inner circle, in which case I feel comfortable wherever.

I absolutely want to be transparent and communicative about my thinking and i do, but it can feel sometimes like my verbosity is a nuisance. I don't want it to "clog up" the main thread of work. I also do want people to be able to join in on what I'm doing ofc too if possible, but yeah, when it's not the focus it feels weird to be talking about it visibly like old man rants at cloud about something no one cares about lol. Maybe it makes socially integrating difficult too... I wouldn't know I just act like im integrated until it ends up i am somehow someday I usually can't certainly tell :P

If you disagree with a narcissist, you cannot make yourself small enough, inoffensive enough to avoid outsized retribution and vengeance.

I have watched friends be bullied and punished for simply asking a narcissist to do what the narcissist promised they would do.

I continue to be having a Bad Time. I have my first trial on Tuesday and I think were going to lose and its so unfair. The bus stop by my parents house closed. My favorite vegan bakery in Seattle closed. Wildfires are still raging. It took me 6 hours (on a SATURDAY) to submit my evidence because of file issues.
