Tell me some advice really turned out to help you but you never hear people talk about.

I think it's a huge sign of respect to keep the secrets of your enemies, as long as those secrets aren't harmful that is.
I was reminded of this because I have had a few enemies over my years, not many luckily. Each had their fair share of secrets.
To give examples that are not related in any way (Just come up with these): Wearing floral scented deodorant as a guy, which I do by the way. Woops, secret is out, but I really don't care, it smells nice.
Or having caused harm to someone in the distant past/childhood. (which would be irrelevant now).
Or maybe just recycling waste instead of recycling, recyclables
Or wetting the bed which isn't surprising anyway.
Or tiny urethras.
I don't know. But the point is, character attacks are the weakest type of attack. If my most recent bully is anything to go by, then there's zero things I've been told that actually can change let alone be argued about.
Just some friendly advice from a concerned observer.

We need a printer for the home office.
Small footprint is probably the top thing, because space is tight. Think something a bit bigger than a sheet of A4 for the ideal.
But we print rarely, so don't want the ink to dry up. It needs to be pulled out after 6-9 months of inactivity and work.
I am so lost with inktanks versus inkjet and have never seen a small laser printre.

asking any and all CD/DVD nerds
I want to make my own pressed disks, with labels
not just burnimg a disk in my bluray drive/burner, but making close to or exactly commercial quality pressed disks
how do I go about this
is this even something I can do
if not, are there any reputable companies that actually *press* the disks instead of burning them
(for labels, can be simple, I just wanna be able to)
Any concrete and landscaping knowers out there Say I've got a shitty deck that's about 4ft above grade. Under the deck is an old concrete patio slab and steps that they built over top of and dumped crushed stone on. If I want to build a retaining wall to have the ground slope up to the door, can I just put dirt over the old concrete shit or do I need to remove or bust up the concrete first as part of the deck demolition

"Right, maybe we can save a few people from long covid, especially due to repeat infections,
even this late into the SARS Pandemic."
"No! Pandemic ended!"
"Then why are people still getting complications, deaths, and industry delays due to rising long-term sickness"
"Lazy!"
"Please go get your head checked, mate.
Covid causes systemic infections.
I probably have literal brain damage too. TBI is nothing to be ashamed about, unless you're shaming other people for it."
"No!"

I can help you with paperwork as long as we take breaks.
Might need to do it over different days, especially with my sleep schedule."

Fellow parents: how do you balance OPSEC and talking about your kiddos online It may just be me being overly cautious, but I've always referred to them neutrally and vaguely as to not reveal personally identifying information. But also I'm super proud of them and I want to post pictures and brag about them :c

MY experience with HP and Pavilion in particular been :
- NEVER ANY MORE IN MY LIFE ANOTHER ONE
- crap build quality
- non-upgradeable
- poor performance
- cannot install Linux on it ( not sure why, tried the impossible )
- battery went soon shit
Overall my impression is that HP is NOT "a good brand" for laptops.
What do you think
I just read some of the best advice ever and I think it applies in adulthood too (inspite of being arrested for it).
The best way to stand up to a bully is to fight back, and really make it count.
I've dealt with bullies almost my entire life and I can confirm that is an effective strategy. It's bullies who don't like when there's someone stronger than them. So this is the point of making it count when you do fight back. Not saying outright murder, but more like a life long thing to reflect the suffering you've endured.
And sometimes that is the best way to make peace.
Gary Hensel: "You're so hard on yourself. Take a moment. Sit back. Marvel at your life. At the grief that softened you, at the heartache that wisened you, at the suffering that strengthened you. Despite everything, you still grow. Be proud of this."
interested in opinions about purchasing an iMac. Would be trading in my M1 MacBook Pro so that I can have a larger screen (I rarely travel these days so portability is not a concern). Guessing I probably want to go for the 512 GB version and am considering the certified refurbished program but wondering if it really makes sense, and would love to hear any advice on any aspect of this from people who know more than me!
Im looking for a scale capable of measuring body composition. I dont mind spending on it. I do mind if it requires an app.
I just need it to tell me the vitals its measuring, not be smart about it.

P PROTIP: Tossing "word salad," or "essay," or "thesis" at someoene who wrote a long, thoughtful, and consoderate post, only to follow it up with a vacuous sentence of sheer nothingness It doesn't make the person you're attacking look bad, it only ensures that you come across as an obnoxiously vapid anti-intellectual. If that's your goal, though Great. You're doing a good job.

Radical cyclists advice be like: 'Point your front light straight forward instead of on the road! Because omg it's the 'cars' which are so dangerous!'
If you like to take advice from them then by all means go ahead. I mean what could possibly go wrong when you can't see the road you're driving on AND blinding the person who drives the 2 ton car coming in your direction.
It's just very very silly.
Just did my 3rd block ever on Mastodon. 1st was being needlessly rude, 2nd was for saying I deserved to die in a terrorist attack (yikes), and this one was for arrogant unsolicited advice. I believe you should not give strangers advice unless they ask for it. Ideally you should not give anyone advice. What you should do instead, if anything, is ask them questions to help them figure out what would help them. But I guess that doesn't give people the same ego boost now does it
